    • Living with mother, brother and two sisters in the 1870 Hays County, Texas census pg. 215. In the 1880 Hays County Texas census pg. 48 he is the head of the household at 24 yrs. of age with his mother Miranda and sisters Barbara, 20, and Elizabeth, 18. In 1880 he also owns the tract of land next to his brother Thomas J. Galloway. Retail Liquor Dealer in Comal County.
      In Hunter, Texas, Charles was the Sheriff, Post Master, and a Saloon Owner.
      The Saloon is still standing as of 1978, Riley's Tavern https://www.co.comal.tx.us/Historical/Markers/Rileys-Tavern.htm .
      Owned home, free of mortgage, in 1900 census. Buried at the Roselawn Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
